PROJECT DEFINITION

Our app "Sound Freeze" is designed to provide services for sound notification for entrepreneurs in the airport. The start of our project is that we found entrepreneurs always use headphones in order to listen to music or to stay in communication with their team in the airport. The need of entrepreneurs is that they don't want to miss any alerts made by the airport concerning their plane. Our app will provide the appropriate services for them. In order to meet their need, there are two main functions of our app. First, by using our app, any sound transmitted by the airport will be transmitted to the headphone. Those notifications will be recorded and transmitted in phrases. Entrepreneurs can choose the sound mode they like when the notification is transmitted : turn down the sound of their phone or send a voice notification. Another function is that entrepreneurs could see the information about their trips in the past and in the future.

Our project is an application that is based on a partnership with flying companies and airports worldwide. All the services provided by airports and flying companies can be uploaded by our app.

In the market of applications regarding services in airport, there are apps like “FlightAware “ and “The flight tracker”. Even thought they also provide information about flights, but none of them uses the sound notification like our app. The main difference is that we make the alter in the headphones while other apps push notification on the phone. By using the sound, our project for alter passengers is more direct and noticeable.

By using the technology and combining the information from the airports, we are all sure that entrepreneurs have a chance to meet the best app for their traveling !

USER TESTS

We were able to ask 6 entrepreneurs to test our app.
All of them found the application very clear and simple to use.
Also, the critics delivered by these entrepreneurs allowed us to improve the app and made it more attractive and usefull.

About Our Data sources For Information Of Flights

Our app began as a free interface into a single data feed from the FAA and airports. Today, our app provides the most accurate and comprehensive flight tracking by fusing data from thousands of sources around the world. Besides information from airports, we mainly use the data from several technical network.

Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs)
Soundfreeze receives ATC RADAR positions and flight plan information from Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) in 45 countries. ANSP flight plan information includes real-time departure, arrival and delay information as well as flow management and delay program messages for flights operating to, from or within the ANSP’s air space. In addition to radar position data, these ANSPs also provide transoceanic positions relayed via high frequency (HF) and/or satellite communication systems. Soundfreeze has transoceanic ANSP coverage for the North Pacific, South Pacific and North Atlantic Oceans.

ACARS Datalink (VHF or SATCOM)
Soundfreeze integrates position reports and flight information (FLIFO) data from over 10,000 aircraft through agreements with virtually every VHF or satellite datalink provider.

About Sound Notification

This function requires the user's consent before it can be used. Sound push has a certain relationship with mobile phone settings. Therefore, we need to consider the differences between the ios system and the Android system when designing, and use different methods to design audio push and audio recording.

How did we get the idea of such an application?
Firstly, we used mindmaps to explore our subject : Rethink flying experience for entrepreneurs using sound design .
Thanks to this research, we realized that it is not always easy to monitor information at an airport for entrepreneurs as they are often required to have headphones to listen to music or to videoconference.
Then, we get an idea : create an app which offers the opportunity for them not to miss any new alerts concerning their plane !
